Full timetable now live for 9-11 October across Sheffield and Rotherham, with Thursday warm-up events at Memory Dance, Gut Level and Hideaway

No Bounds Festival returns this Friday, 9 October, for three days of adventurous music, art and community activity across Sheffield and Rotherham, with the full 2026 timetable now live and final preparations under way across the city and borough. Following the festival’s farewell to Hope Works in 2025, this year’s edition continues No Bounds’ fully nomadic era, returning to the grassroots, DIY energy that shaped the festival from the start while building towards its tenth birthday in 2027. The programme moves between warehouse-scale audiovisual shows, club nights, live performances, workshops, exhibitions and community-led activity across independent spaces.

Sheffield starts early on Thursday. Ahead of the official Friday opening, Memory Dance x No Bounds launches Groovy, Laidback & Nasty, an exhibition inspired by Sheffield journalist Daniel Dylan Wray’s history of independent music in the city. The free preview runs from 5-8pm across Memory Dance and Gut Level, with an introduction from Wray, a Sheffield-focused DJ set from Lo Shea and a Gut Level-curated afterparty. The exhibition continues at Memory Dance on Chapel Walk until 4 November.

Also on Thursday, the University of Sheffield and Tickets for Good host the free Live Music and Workplace Wellbeing event from 1.30pm, sharing preliminary research into live events and NHS staff wellbeing alongside panel discussions and networking. The programme includes a live showcase from Sheffield band Speed for Lovers at Hideaway, adding another live-music strand to the city’s pre-festival Thursday. This also connects to No Bounds’ wider Wellbeing Strand, which this year explores the intersection of music, technology and wellbeing.

On Saturday, Pyradym cosmic re-alignment sessions run at Plot 22 from 2-6pm. Pyradym is a physio-acoustic healing instrument designed and built with the intention of stimulating the human body’s innate self-healing mechanisms.

On Sunday, Drone Yoga at The Mowbray (4-5pm) combines Vinyasa flow yoga with a live ambient drone performance.

Friday: immersive opening concert and city-wide afterparties. No Bounds officially opens at Peddler Warehouse from 6pm with Lo Shea, Emergence Collective, NZO and Sheffield electronic pioneers The Black Dog, before Max Cooper closes the concert with his 3D/AV show. Friday then spreads across DRYAD Works, Yellow Arch and Plot 22, with sets and performances including Oppidan, Big Ang, Jenny Sparks, Phatworld, Charla Green, Esmé, Funky Drummer, La Rumba and more.

Saturday: the Mothership and grassroots after-hours. The main daytime programme returns to Peddler from 2pm, bringing together Mark Fell, 96 Back, Slikback, gyrofield, Steeze Factory, Mala and a closing live set from Blawan. Elsewhere, the daytime programme includes the Oram Awards and Yorkshire Sound Women’s Network, plus a live TYRYX performance at Bloc Projects. Saturday night pushes back into the city’s independent spaces. DRYAD Works hosts Main Phase, Anz b2b Commodo and Neffa-T, while NIKS b2b SUCHI take over Gut Level, Delicious Clam presents a live programme, Plot 22 hosts a Resonate x Ulterior session, and The System moves from Algorave into late-night sets including KAVARI. Fagan’s also hosts free folk jams.

Sunday: Rotherham, participation and Electronic Music Club. The final day turns towards community, exchange and participation in Rotherham. At the Hope Centre, Electronic Music Club, curated by Mark Fell and Rian Treanor, runs from 1-8pm with food, talks, workshops, local performances and an exhibition created through the project. The programme includes a Blawan artist talk, a Slikback workshop and an Electronic Music Club workshop, before the festival’s closing activity continues at The System. Across the weekend, No Bounds continues to put South Yorkshire artists, collectives and independent venues alongside internationally recognised names. The wider programme includes Gut Level, Wub Club, The Beatriarchy, Bass Off, Unity Underground, La Rumba, Funky Drummer, Pattern + Push, Slambarz and other local crews, reflecting the festival’s stated return to a raw, grassroots and collaborative spirit.

Liam O’Shea, Director of No Bounds Festival, said:

“No Bounds has always been about creating space for new ideas, new collaborations and new ways of experiencing music, art and technology. As we look ahead to our tenth anniversary, it felt important to return to the grassroots energy that shaped the festival in the first place, working closely with independent venues, local communities and artists from South Yorkshire and beyond. This year’s programme brings together internationally recognised names alongside emerging talent, while creating opportunities for people to help shape what No Bounds becomes over the next decade.”

No Bounds Festival runs from Friday 9 to Sunday 11 October 2026. Tickets remain on sale, with the latest programme and any last-minute timetable updates available from the festival website and Resident Advisor.

Editorial insight

No Bounds Festival’s return this weekend signals another chapter in the event’s ongoing evolution, as it continues to adapt following the closure of its long-time base at Hope Works. The move towards a fully nomadic format sees the festival deepen its ties with Sheffield and Rotherham’s independent venues and creative spaces, highlighting a renewed emphasis on grassroots collaboration and community engagement. This approach not only preserves the festival’s original DIY ethos but also positions it as a key cultural fixture for South Yorkshire ahead of its tenth anniversary in 2027.

For local creative industries and audiences, the festival’s expanded footprint offers both economic and cultural opportunities, drawing visitors and spotlighting regional talent alongside international acts. The inclusion of wellbeing-focused programming and partnerships with local organisations reflects a broader trend within the events sector, where community impact and audience experience are increasingly prioritised. With the full timetable now live and preparations in their final stages, the festival’s organisers appear intent on reinforcing No Bounds’ reputation as a platform for experimentation and participation within the UK’s independent festival scene.
