Comedian Em Stroud Brings Her Hit One-Woman Show Tales from a Little Laughing Lesbian Back to London This November

Following a sell-out preview last year, comedian and performer Em Stroud returns to the capital this November with the next leg of her acclaimed UK tour, The Em Show: Tales from a Little Laughing Lesbian. The show runs from 19-21 November 2025 at The Courtyard Theatre, Hackney, before continuing its UK tour.
The latest instalment in a trilogy of shows inspired by Em’s own life, The Em Show: Tales from a Little Laughing Lesbian is a hilarious and heartfelt exploration of what happens when we stop trying to control everything and simply ‘be’.
Packed with stand-up, improvisation and clowning, this electrifying one-woman show blends humour and humanity in equal measure. From therapy to parenting, marriage to motorbikes, no topic is off-limits in this joyous journey of self-discovery.
Em says:
““The show is about how one woman - me - has found that by losing control and throwing herself into some really weird and wonderful situations, from riding motorbikes to motherhood to meditation, she’s finally worked out who she is. It’s very silly, it’s very joyous and it will definitely make you giggle. It might even make you think a little bit. At its heart, it’s a show about self-discovery: about how a 47-year-old woman can finally stand on stage and do a thing called The Em Show.”
Em worked with actor, director and UK leading expert on Commedia dell’Arte Didi Hopkins (Miles Jupp, Eddie Izzard), to balance big theatrical moments with intimate storytelling, capturing Stroud’s trademark blend of energy, honesty, and playfulness.
Based in Wandsworth, South West London, Em has become known for her unique ability to combine comedy, clowning, and connection, creating shows that are as thought-provoking as they are entertaining.
Hopkins says:
“This is a show that makes you laugh, think, reflect and be truly moved. As we’ve developed it, the script has become richer, deeper and matured like a good strong whiskey.
